Microsoft fears Google buys Yahoo!?!?

Does Microsoft fear Google so much that they are now actually trying to buy Yahoo?  Check Engadget for the story. I think Microsoft is not really sure what to do to compete with Google’s success and financial might. Microsoft hasn’t really had much competition (witness all the monopoly lawsuits a few years back) in its history. After Google bought Doubleclick, which created an advertising giant, Microsoft went out and bought some relatively unheard of ad firm for a whopping 6 billion dollars. I think Google is steering the boat now and Microsoft has no idea what to do to compete. My last though on this is a big hats off to Filo and Yang. These two guys started Yahoo! on their computers at college and from there it exploded to a company that has a $44 billion merger offer. Well done gentlemen, well done.
